First opened in 1951, Long Island Bar is the quintessential neighborhood bar. Current owners Joel Tompkins and Toby Cecchini restored and re-opened the bar in 2013, and since then, Long Island Bar has gained quite the reputation for its tight list of well-executed cocktails, iconic cheeseburger, and always welcoming atmosphere.
The L.I. Burger
The 70-year old corner bar that’s still standing post COVID boasts charming vintage interiors, well-made takes on cocktail classics, and a killer double-patty burger. The dry-aged beef is laced with American cheese and served with pickles, fries and “fancy sauce.” It’s the perfect late-night bar snack guaranteed to reduce your risk of a crushing hangover the next day by at least half.
