American Southern comfort food is given extra soul via a side of regular live jazz music at North Side's James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy. The downstairs lounge is the main attraction, an intimate space to drink cocktails at candlelit tables before a small performance stage. It’s become so popular (and booked) that the concerts are broadcast on a large screen in the large upstairs dining room, where burgers are served on doughnut buns with candied bacon and sweet onion mayonnaise; and chicken wings are coated in a peanut butter-beer-molasses sauce.
