Faction Brewing
There's a variety of reasons why it's worth the ferry trip to Alameda to visit Faction Brewing. First, you need to replenish your growler with one of their delicious beers (maybe the Anomaly Milk Stout, the Defcon Belgian-style pale ale, or a new favorite, perhaps?), and unlike most breweries, it's fine if your children and/or dog tags along, providing you supervise them accordingly. Second, the 20-barrel brewhouse occupies a former airplane hangar that they've since decked out with cool artwork from local designer Nick Fullmer; while tours aren't available, you can see the entire warehouse from the tasting room anyways, so it's exciting regardless. Besides, you have beer to drink and things to eat! Which reminds us: there's a rotating list of food trucks from local vendors that you can snack on while you admire the sweeping view of the San Francisco skyline. That too.
