Venue Info

The Lowdown is a 21st Century speakeasy that can literally be found low down below Torito Tapas Bar. What it lacks in size, it makes up for with ingenuity. The space serves up a smorgasbord of snacks from the restaurant upstairs, including Spanish olives and ham and cheese boards, and the drinks aren’t afraid to get a little artsy. Owned and operated by author Shaughnessy Bishop-Stall, The Lowdown has a menu of seasonal cocktails that pay homage to pulp fiction novels both in name and boozy strength. This little space only has enough room for 35 people, but with live music, stand-up shows, and trivia on tap, it feels as big as any other bar on Augusta.
