Ox Cart Ale House
For upscale, scratch-made pub food in Saint Paul, the only place to go is the Ox Cart Ale House. The third restaurant from Joe Kasel and Kevin Geisen (of Eagle Street Grille and The Salt Cellar), this is a purposefully casual restaurant that focuses on fresh food and local beers, with taps reserved for specialty beers and even mead. The menu here changes seasonally according to what's in season in Minnesota at the time, but you can usually find a selection of juicy homemade sausages, fresh seafood, and burgers, including a signature lamb burger topped with Aleppo pepper and Greek farmer's cheese. Plenty of seating inside and out means it's a great place to relax after work with beer and friends.
