The casual yet stylish Morris in Potrero Hill is heaven for Bay Area winos, as legendary sommelier Paul Einbund (formerly of Frances) has developed an immense wine selection that's mostly comprised of well-aged European bottles. The 50-plus-page list pairs beautifully with refined dishes liked Peking duck with roasted vegetables and crispy pork trotters with Asian pear.
Wow your family and friends with The Morris’ signature Smoked Duck with root vegetables, available for pickup. The restaurant is doing the heavy lifting—the duck will be brined, smoked, and air-dried before you pick it up. All you have to do is take it home and roast it according to the included instructions. You can get a half-duck ($45, feeds two), and you have the option to add on root vegetables, charcuterie, chocolate pudding, and more.
How to order: Place your order by December 13 for pickup on December 23 or 24.
Dinner at The Morris tends to feel like a great night at a friend’s place… if that friend had an encyclopedic knowledge of wine, a cellar to match, an impeccable palette, and was an unreal chef. All the more reason to gather your crew at the restaurant’s delightful, plant-filled parklet, which has space for groups from 20 to 25. You can have a full sit-down dinner (which should probably, definitely involve The Morris’s unreal smoked duck) or a more casual party with cocktails and snacks. Did we mention that a raw bar is a possibility here? We’ll never say no to a raw bar.
