Horace & Dickie’s is an H Street original, serving down-home soul food that'll have you convinced you're much farther below the Mason-Dixon line than DC's Atlas District. A tiny, white-and-blue takeout shack, it offers juicy fried chicken and plenty of seafood including catfish and crab cakes, but you're not a true Washingtonian until you’ve devoured this hole in the wall's signature fried fish -- either on a platter or in the fan-favorite "jumbo" sandwich. Fair warning: One order can feed a small family, so come hungry (ravenous, really).
