From down-home to upscale, there’s sure to be something worth dragging yourself off the couch for a convivial hearty breakfast.

Now that Von Elrod’s sister restaurant, The Sutler, has closed, the festive beer hall and kitchen will take over as the location of The Sutler’s popular weekend Bluegrass Brunch. That’s just one more reason to enjoy a morning meal at Von Elrod’s on top of their list of sausages, pecans sticky buns, breakfast burritos and mimosas served in a liter-sized stein.

Already home to one of Nashville’s best “Power Breakfasts,” weekends are a little more festive thanks to more tourists and fewer attorneys in the crowd. The menu is the same, though, and it’s excellent. Elevated egg plates and omelets lead the fare, and pay special attention to the fork-tender short ribs basted in Coca-Cola barbecue sauce. They make an exemplary buttermilk biscuit at Midtown, too, whether served with sausage gravy or stuffed with breakfast meats.

Anzie Blue serves brunch all day, every day, but the weekends are prime time to build your own breakfast or to have them put a “charcuterie” board of morning treats like chicken, waffles, bagel bites, biscuits and fruit for sharing. That’s because Saturday and Sunday are when they put on a classy Jazz Brunch, except for one Saturday a month when it becomes an uproarious Drag Brunch. Plus, they’ll add CBD to almost everything on the menu.

The latest addition to the Fifth + Broadway retail/entertainment complex focuses on Spanish tapas and a robust bar menu, so a boozy brunch just makes loads of sense. Serving Friday through Sunday, Boqueria’s brunch offers fun dishes like torrija, caramelized French toast with citrus honey, and a roasted chicken paella dish with piquillo peppers, chorizo, kale, and eggs. Add in a special 90-minute free flow Sangría, mimosas, beer, Bloody Mary or cava deal, and you’ve got an hour and a half of good times.

East Nashville isn’t known for supporting a lot of chain restaurants, but this Denver-based breakfast/brunch eatery is packing ‘em in thanks to a menu of innovated takes on classic morning dishes like overstuffed breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches served on a pretzel roll, and decadent pancake and French toast platters. Full liquor and coffee bars are just the cherry on the whip cream on the pancake.

Since Ruby Sunshine originated in New Orleans, you know it’s a great place to soak up whatever sin is left in your system from last night’s debauchery. The open-air patio is the perfect place to nurse your aching head while watching the world walk by in Hillsboro Village, and a menu of specialty Benedict dishes and Southern specialties like shrimp &amp; grits, biscuits &amp; gravy, and fried green tomatoes fill your belly with the sustenance you need to get back out there and face the weekend.

Bring a crowd to Sinema on the weekend for family-style bottomless brunch service, like a buffet without having to leave your table. Platter after platter of fried chicken, biscuits &amp; gravy, chilaquiles, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and eggs, plus side dishes, parade to your table until somebody cries “Uncle!” They also offer the option to add all the mimosas and bloody Marys you want for the duration of your meal. You might want to pace yourself and go ahead and cancel your dinner reservations.

During the week, this stylish lounge from the team behind <a href="https://slimandhuskys.com/" rel=" noopener" target="_blank">Slim &amp; Husky’s Pizza Beeria</a> focuses on craft cocktails and a menu of tapas for sharing, but on the weekends, the vibe is a little more casual. The menu is still elevated with dishes like cinnamon roll Belgian waffles, smothered salmon croquettes and creole fish &amp; grits, but you can also go more old school with à la carte options of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and smothered potatoes. Brunch drinks on the docket include a specialty punch and a classic bellini along with bloodys, mimosas, and cold brew coffee.

The queue of hungry patrons waiting to get into the original Biscuit Love in the Gulch are smart enough to know the cozy eatery’s biscuit sandwiches are something special. They’re just not smart enough to realize that the second location five minutes away in Hillsboro Village serves the same menu of biscuits and gravy, hot chicken biscuit sandwiches, and the biscuit/donut clone known as the “bonut” as in the Gulch, but with smaller crowds. Be doubly smart.

The Israeli-inspired menu at Butcher &amp; Bee lends itself to an enjoyable vegetarian experience, even for hardcore carnivores. It does serve meat, but small flavorful plates like the popular whipped feta and honey with cracked black pepper and mains such as their addictive avocado crispy rice make it pretty easy to go veggie every Sunday from 10-2.

Butchertown Hall can be a little geographically baffling. It’s named Butchertown, but the restaurant sits near the line separating Germantown and Salemtown. It’s a Nashville restaurant, but it serves Texas-style barbecue and craft tacos. Don’t let any of that concern you, because it’s done so well that we don’t care what they call themselves. With plenty of porch space perfumed with smoke from the pits, you can spread out as you dive into a pile of smoked meat including house-made bacon, chorizo, brisket, carne asada, or TX-wurst sold by the pound. Try brunch specialties like The Cowboy Breakfast featuring two eggs, smoked onion/potato hash, and your choice of smoked meats.&nbsp;

Butchertown Hall

There’s no need to hurry to get to brunch at Cafe Roze, since they serve it every day from 9 am until 4 pm, so they’ll be ready when you are. The talented kitchen team at Cafe Roze has what you need, be it to get the day off to a healthy start with a berry shake or some coconut yogurt, or if you’re trying to soak up a little of last night’s sins with country ham toast and a soft scrambled egg or one of the best smash burgers in town. More refined options include a delightful turmeric-carrot soup and a beautiful smoked trout toast served with radish, lemon, and chives.

The good folks at Earnest know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so they offer their brunch menu every day of the week except Monday. This is a real benefit for hospitality professionals who have to work during weekend brunch hours and would like the chance to enjoy an occasional cocktail with their morning meal alongside dishes like brown butter pancakes, breakfast tacos, and poutine Benedict.&nbsp;

At etc., the ambiance is classy, and the plates are classics, but with a twist. Add shrimp or chicken to the roasted cauliflower bowl for some extra protein or indulge in a Korean bistro steak and fried mushroom dumpling salad for a culinary tour of regional cuisines on one plate. Inventive cocktails are designed just for the Sunday-only brunch and are the perfect complement to the meal.

Henrietta Red is best known for its work with seafood, and there are certainly some ocean delights on the brunch menu from roasted oysters to citrus-cured salmon. But weekend mornings are when the kitchen plays with other fun dishes like internationally inspired breakfast treats and sweet pastries. The decor of the lovely dining space is a treat for the eyes, the pleasant buzz of excited diners provides the soundtrack, and a list of brunchy cocktails provides the buzz.

Husk is best known for inventive takes on classic Southern dishes made with heritage ingredients. It also has an incredible selection of spirits in the cozy bar downstairs. Combine these two factors and you have a perfect recipe for a transcendent Southern breakfast, where options include quail with red-eye gravy, johnnycakes, a poached egg, sweet potato glaze, and hollandaise. Luckily, <a href="https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nashville/best-burgers-nashville" target="_blank">that famous Husk cheeseburger</a> is also available during brunch hours, which run from 10 am to 2 pm on weekends.

Chef Andy Little hails from Pennsylvania and is a classically trained culinary artist. He combines this varied background with the flavors of his adopted region to create unique brunch items like elevated sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches, and a namesake Josephine Benedict with poached eggs, scrapple, country ham, and brown butter hollandaise sauce that are unlike any other weekend menu in Nashville. The talented pastry staff offers up some fine donuts and pecan sticky buns to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Lowercase lou doesn’t wait until the weekends to jump on the brunch train, because it’s available all the time. The menu benefits from chef/owner Mailea Weger’s experience working in fine kitchens in France and California and the food is both healthy and a trifle decadent at the same time, with lots of veggie-forward dishes jazzed up by exotic spices. The drinks menu is innovative, introducing many Nashville diners to the beauty of low-ABV cocktails so you can enjoy more than two with a meal and natural wines that taste like they’re dancing on your palate.

While we still miss the menu (but not the lines) at chef/owner Margot McCormac’s now-shuttered Marché, fortunately, she has expanded the hours at her eponymous flagship restaurant around the corner and added a weekend brunch. While the menu changes frequently based on the seasons and freshest ingredients, you can expect fantastic breakfast cocktails and coffee service, sticky pastries, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables showcased in parfaits and bowls, and classic bistro fare for main courses.

You have to hand it to New Orleans; they know how to brunch. At this Louisiana-inspired eatery in the lobby of the hip Thompson Hotel, they show their NOLA roots with a menu of shrimp toast, crab fingers, and a plate of shrimp &amp; grits as good as any in town. In case you were looking to make your champagne drinking more efficient, Marsh House also offers chambong service with open-ended flutes designed to shotgun the bubbly down your gullet at warp speed.

The Mockingbird knows what you want out of weekend brunch. The festive atmosphere at this party palace encourages appropriately irresponsible behavior among friends, and the available bowls of boozy punch with your choice of alcoholic spirit for sharing turns everything up a notch. The menu is filled with delicious dishes bearing punny names like a cinnamon roll dish called “Those Buns, Dough!” and a Mexican-inspired platter named “Taco the Town.”&nbsp;

The menu at Redheaded Stranger isn’t very long—a tight list of breakfast tacos served on flour tortillas (like God intended), a burrito stuffed with eggs, chorizo, cheese, and crispy hash browns, and a green chili cheeseburger that will make you think you’re dining at Sparky’s in Hatch, New Mexico. Still, that doesn’t mean the choices are easy, so you’ll want to make multiple visits to this cozy neighborhood taco shop to work your way through the entire menu.

Redheaded Stranger

Ever since the Graduate Nashville hotel opened, the property’s bold and playful decor and cheeky worship of Dolly Parton has made it a premier location for Instagram photoshoots, with bevys of bachelorettes often making multiple costume changes between shots. The rooftop pool patio and lounge is a magnet for fun seekers who want to sip on clever cocktails and enjoy a sweeping panorama of downtown. The food menu includes plenty of shareables for your crew to divvy up plus larger plates if you’re feeling selfish.
