Hot and Cool Cafe

This vegan social enterprise intentionally chose to settle in Leimert Park in 2018 to provide more vegan and healthy food options to the neighborhood’s predominantly Black residents, and now they’ve brought their community-minded coffee shop to a new location in Canoga Park. The cafe proudly serves coffee that’s hand-selected and roasted by co-owners Tony Jolly and Tina Amin, with a new seasonal cold brew that they’ve dubbed The Be Cool, that’s infused with blueberries and blackberries. The food menu includes hits like cauliflower wings with a house-made vegan ranch sauce, and vegan nachos supreme with fresh spinach chips covered in house-made vegan nacho cheese, salsa, avocado, double bean chili, and microgreens, with walnut meat or Beyond Meat. In addition to hosting community events like Wonder Years Wednesdays where they screen the new TV series and offer free drinks and snacks, both locations are spacious with plenty of seating to accommodate the work-from-home set.
