La Neta is the latest example of the growing vibe-dining trend in Las Vegas, in which restaurants blend food and nightlife together in a lounge atmosphere. Hours extend well into the night with a space that impresses with stone walls, faux foliage, and a corner bar with tall windows that open wide to welcome the fresh air at Downtown Summerlin. The menu of elevated Mexican cuisine draws on the heritage of executive chef Israel Castro with coastal Yucatan influences. The BFT selection of "big tacos" (guess what the "F" stands for) includes one made with a full two-pound lobster, wrapped in a massive cheese-coated tortilla with citrus slaw. The Del Mar section of the menu is dedicated to seafood, while more traditional dishes utilize hand-pressed tortillas made with imported blue and white masa. The house Margaritas are fueled with agave syrup and Casamigos, but if you want extra wow factor, order Roses Are Red, a gin and champagne cocktail poured tableside over a red sherbert rosé.

La Neta makes the most of its "vibe-dining" atmosphere, serving a modern take on Mexican cuisine in a social, upbeat setting with late night hours to help give Summerlin something of a nightlife scene. The main dining room has faux foliage and stone walls, but the best seats are in the corner bar, where windows open wide to the Downtown Summerlin air. Larger parties will be happy to share a bottle of tequila and large-format dishes, including a two-pound Lobster Taco wrapped in a large cheese-coated tortilla and topped with citrus slaw. Chef Israel Castro draws on his Mexican heritage with a strong emphasis on seafood, so order the Lobster Enchiladas or a mixed Seafood Paella. The margaritas are served on tap, made with Casamigos Reposado, fruit juices, and a touch of agave syrup. The newly launched brunch features an excellent house-made Bloody Maria (with a choice of tequila) and Spicy Hot Chicken topped on waffle bread pudding.
How to order: Visit the restaurant's website to book a reservation.

La Neta, a new restaurant in Downtown Summerlin, has large-format dishes for the table to share, including seafood paella and cochinita pibil (slow-roasted pork). At least two people are required to finish off a BFT (we'll go with "big freakin' taco") with a choice of whole lobster, grilled skirt steak, or short rib (deboned tableside) sandwiched between an oversized tortilla. The bar area has lounge-style seating, but larger groups will probably prefer the main dining room.
How to book: Head online to book a reservation or inquire about a large party or private event.
