Gigantic, juicy burgers on hearty pretzel buns. Creamy, deep-fried jalapeno poppers. French fries smothered in chilli and cheese. Overstuffed burritos. Hot dogs overflowing with toppings. If you think eating vegan means nothing but nuts and salads, one look at the Veggy Street menu will blow your mind. And if you already know how diverse and exciting a vegan diet can actually be, then head to Veggy Street for all of your American comfort food cravings, from BBQ bacon cheeseburgers to Philly cheesesteaks.

Tarantino’s Vegas is the first (and still only) 100% plant-based Italian eatery in Las Vegas, offering traditional Italian favorites like garlic bread, meatball subs, stuffed portabella mushrooms, chicken and eggplant parmesan, and spaghetti bolognese. They’re also once again offering their pasta bar lunch special Tuesdays through Fridays 11 am to 3 pm for just $11.11.

Chikyū had the unfortunate timing of opening in the midst of the pandemic, but they’ve weathered the storm of 2020 and ended up on the radar of Vegas vegans for their beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared vegan sushi. The concept is a partnership between Chef John Le, one of the original sushi chefs at San Francisco’s celebrated vegan sushi restaurant Shizen, and Shizen co-founder and ocean conservationist Casson Trenor. Theirs is a refined approach to vegan sushi, utilizing classic Japanese culinary techniques to highlight and honor the plant-based ingredients in much the same way that traditional sushi honors the flavors and textures of the fresh fish.

With locations in Downtown Summerlin and the DTLV Arts District, Makers &amp; Finders finds a pretty wide audience across the spectrum of Las Vegas locals, from downtown hipsters to yoga moms. Likewise, their menu appeals to a wide spectrum of restaurant-goers, from meat-centric Latin American comfort foods to totally vegan versions of those very same dishes, including vegan empanadas, a black bean vegan burger on sweet plantain focaccia bread, and a vegan version of a Peruvian favorite, lomo saltado.

Behold, another vegan Mexican eatery! Everything at Veganos is 100-percent plant-based, and they also have gluten-free options. In addition to vegan tacos, burritos, and other Mexican entrees, they also serve more Americanized menu items like burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas.

With locations in ever-hipper DTLV and super-suburban Henderson, VegeNation serves all plant-based ingredients—including meats, cheeses, and ice cream—for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. The eatery’s mission is to lead a food revolution, and though they’ve had to pause local community projects like pop-up yoga classes, art galleries, workshops, and fundraisers due to the pandemic, they continue to showcase seasonal ingredients and support local businesses by adopting school gardens and sourcing local craft brews.

The food at Violette's looks as decadent and gluttonous as the food at some of the most outrageously over-the-top eateries serving record-breaking burgers and milkshakes. Happily, it is all completely vegan. There are plenty of lighter items to choose from like salads and wraps, but much of the menu definitely leans towards comfort food, which is always a nice treat for those living a vegan lifestyle, since there is the perception that vegan people eat nothing but lettuce and can’t enjoy hearty meals. Violette's begs to differ. And even more happy news for Violette’s fans: weekend brunch is back!

Just because a person chooses a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle doesn't mean they want to give up all their favorite Mexican foods—tacos, tortas, tostadas, enchiladas, burritos, sopes, quesadillas, and so on. At Pancho's Vegan Tacos, you can still enjoy all of your favorite Mexican dishes, all completely vegan, made with proteins like wheat-based asada, al pastor, and chorizo, and carnitas made from jackfruit.

Las Vegans in the know widely agree that Yum Cha serves the best dim sum in the city, and one taste of any of the freshly-baked buns will make you a convert. One thing people might not realize, though, is that Yum Cha also offers an extensive variety of vegan and vegetarian options made strictly with vegetables and imitation meats. All dim sum dishes are made to order and can be ordered at any time.

Wait, Las Vegas has not one but two 100% plant-based Mexican restaurants? Well technically there's three if you consider the fact that Tacotarian has two locations. And, really, there's four (see Veganos below). Told you this city was a lowkey vegan haven. There are over a dozen different taco choices, all with plant-based proteins, as well as a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and vegan ice cream dishes for dessert. Weekend brunch items include breakfast tacos, burritos, chilaquiles, chicken and waffles, and more. The downtown Arts District location also serves cocktails and margaritas!

With two locations on either side of the Las Vegas Valley, Mint Indian Bistro features a lunch buffet by day and a more upscale dining experience in the evening. The lunch buffet—which is back daily!—includes clearly-labeled vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and non-vegetarian Indian cuisine, while the dinner menu offers a wide variety of North and South Indian specialties including breads, rice, noodles, and curries, most of which can be made vegan or vegetarian.

Veggie House is a no-frills spot in Las Vegas's <a href="https://www.thrillist.com/eat/las-vegas/best-chinatown-restaurants-in-vegas" target="_blank">extremely happening Chinatown</a> that serves veggie versions of Chinese favorites thanks to Chef Albert Ho, who specializes in cooking vegetarian and vegan food. Order plant-based versions of crispy beef, General Tso's chicken, a variety of dim sum, fried rice, and more.

There's no sense in denying the science behind the <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/mediterranean-diet/art-20047801" target="_blank">healthfulness of the Mediterranean diet</a>, which already espouses a significant curbing of consumption of red meats and dairy products, as well as merely a weekly intake of poultry and fish. It's pretty easy to go full-veg from there, and the menu at Parsley has an entire plant-based section featuring falafel, red quinoa, grape leaves, and other veggie-friendly options.

Located just a few minutes from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, Delhi Indian Cuisine is a popular spot with UNLV's thousands of students and employees for its affordable lunch buffet, which recently reopened. The buffet is now served by staff rather than self-serve, but it is still all-you-can-eat. There is a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian items including soups, rice dishes, roti, samosas, pakoras, and a vast assortment of subji (vegetable dishes). Delhi even has a full menu selection of strictly vegan items.

You have to respect a place that puts it right in the name. At Café No Fur, everything is vegan, which means nothing comes from anything with fur (or feathers or feet or fins). The menu could easily pass for a classic American bar and grill, except for the fact that it's all vegan. Try a burger topped with bacon, a Philly cheesesteak, pizza, wings, ribs, buckets of fried chicken, or popcorn shrimp. The cafe even has its own creamery that uses almond milk to make a variety of inventive ice cream flavors and creative ice cream desserts.

Chef Kenny's serves all the Asian specialties you love in the heart of Las Vegas's Chinatown, with the minor exception that all of it is vegan: the spicy crispy beef, Kung Pao chicken, sushi and nigiri, Hunan pork, Chilean sea bass, curry duck. Go Vegan Café is a completely vegan market selling a selection of vegan pantry items, drinks, supplements, personal care items, books, and T-shirts—as well as a juice bar and all-vegan café that serves both cooked and raw menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are plenty of vegan restaurants around town, but few that offer totally raw items, and none that serve the selection of raw items that Go Vegan Café does, so if you're interested in leveling up your vegan diet to include raw foods like burritos, wraps, and tostadas, definitely check this place out.

NoButcher is Las Vegas's first vegan butcher shop, and is a purely plant-based deli and restaurant. Order sandwiches like the "Pulled NoPork," "Aloha NoRib," and "Italian Cold Cut" made entirely with vegan meats and cheeses.

The only Egyptian restaurant in Las Vegas, POTs also serves 100% vegan cuisine. Order a selection of mazza—shareable plates like falafel, samosas, and hummus—or some Egyptian street foods like koshari or taamia, and end your meal with their house-made Egyptian version of baklava.

Located inside DTLV's Container Park, Simply Pure is Chef Stacey Dougan’s labor of love. The internationally known gourmet vegan and raw foods chef and nutritionist offers an array of items at her vegan café, like lasagna, green chile enchiladas, nachos, tacos, lettuce wraps, Thai basil spring rolls, zucchini pasta, and jicama chili cheese fries.

Located right by UNLV, the Modern Vegan caters to a range of tastes with a vegan menu that includes bar snacks like loaded potato skins, queso dip, and jalapeño poppers; comfort food favorites like "Louisiana Fried Chick'n," a pulled pork pretzel bun, and baked mac and cheese; breakfast items like biscuits and gravy, French toast, "V'Eggs Benny," and "Steak and V'Eggs;" plus shakes, smoothies, juices, and cocktails. If you're going to take a meat-eater to a strictly vegan restaurant, this is a pretty good place to ease them in.

The Modern Vegan

By mandate of Steve Wynn himself (back when <a href="https://money.cnn.com/2018/02/06/news/companies/steve-wynn-stepping-down-ceo-wynn-resorts/index.html" target="_blank">he was still involved</a> with his own eponymously named chain of resorts, anyway), every restaurant inside the Wynn and Encore resorts offers vegan and vegetarian menus overseen by the celebrated vegan chef Tal Ronnen. The overwhelming majority of the places mentioned on this list can be classified as fast-casual and casual cafés, so for those seeking a fine dining experience, the options might feel lacking. If that's the case, head to the north end of the Strip and enjoy elegant, sophisticated plant-based dining at some of the top fine dining establishments in Las Vegas.
