Even as home to multiple spots like the Peruvian restaurant, POPULAR, and dancing destination House of X, for summer celebration, the place to be is at the PUBLIC Hotel is the property’s rooftop venue, The Roof at PUBLIC. Don your red, white, and blues for their three-day-long special summer barbecue party from Saturday, July 2 to Monday, July 4. Each soiree will feature 360-degree views of the city skyline along with seasonal cocktails, an a la carte barbecue menu, and surprise DJs spinning late into the evening. Doors open at 5 pm.

The PUBLIC Hotel has two tranquil outdoor spaces tucked away in the LES. POPULAR, the hotel’s Peruvian restaurant by chef Diego Muñoz, serves dinner and weekend brunch in The Bowery Garden, a lush space with intricate tiled floor that is often used for private events. For something more casual, visit LOUIS, a coffee shop and bakery serving drinks and bites all day long and head out to Chrystie Park, a 3,000-square foot space with adirondack chairs and picnic tables located in front of the hotel.
At POPULAR, the new restaurant inside Ian Schrager’s PUBLIC hotel, chef Diego Muñoz is offering a five-course menu of Peruvian fare for $125 per person on Christmas Eve. The restaurant and pisco bar is serving up plenty of holiday libations to pair with oysters with cucumber and a pink peppercorn mignonette to start. The menu then moves through a roasted winter squash salad; branzino with chimichurri sauce made with Peruvian rocoto peppers and huacatay; porchetta with ají panca and fermented fig jus that is inspired by Chilca, a town just south of Lima that’s famous for its figs; and a Bûche de Noël made with manjar blanco (Peruvian dulce de leche) for dessert.
