The Renwick Gallery is a part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, showcasing mostly contemporary artists. The exhibitions switch up regularly, so it's worth multiple visits, especially considering that admission is free. At the very least, take some time to admire the building itself if you're passing by the White House -- it's the first building in the US designed expressly as an art museum.
