Meaning “casual dining” in Ilocano (the third most spoken native language in the Philippines), Saramsam is a new addition to the NYC dining scene. It’s part of Ravi DeRossi’s plant-based Overthrow Hospitality Group and, as such, serves a vegan menu inspired by Filipino staples, which is no easy feat considering many traditional dishes are meat or fish-based. On the menu you’ll find dishes like roasted mushroom adobo; plant-based sizzling “sisig”; and pancit canton with Impossible ragu.
