You deserve a completely stress-free holiday just for making it to the holidays, which means if you’re not up for all of the hard work that comes with making a Christmas Feast, you should leave it to the pros. Forget making a grocery list, checking it twice, and still having to go back to the store three times for stuff you forgot to pick up. Forget missing all of the festivities because you’re the metaphorical Christmas goose stuck in the kitchen all day. Forget piles and piles of dishes. Instead, give yourself the gift of chilling the eff out and enjoy Christmas brunch, dinner, or dim sum from one of these restaurants, most of which are open for indoor and/or outdoor service, and a few of which are also offering takeout. All you have to worry about is making the reservation and leaving a couple of cookies out for Santa (who, frankly, would probably prefer a glass of bourbon instead).

Have a very Italian Christmas dinner with Che Fico’s take-home feast. The Short Rib Dinner ($275, feeds four) includes a winter salad with burrata, a black truffle lasagna bolognese, potato parmigiano gratinato, roasted Brussels sprouts, braised short ribs, and a bottle of red, white, or sparkling wine. There’s also a vegetarian option ($250, feeds four) that swaps out the meat dishes with a black truffle lasagna and polenta fritti. Several dishes are also available a la carte, including a citrus almond cake for dessert ($35). All meals are fully cooked and easily reheated. You’re going to fill up on apps no matter what, so you might as well outsource that part to the aperitivo pros. Chezchez is offering all kinds of festive party-ready platters and accoutrements, including trays (charcuterie, cheese, crudités) and Party Packs, all of which feed six to eight people and range from $65 to $165, plus dips, tins, bottled cocktails, spritz kits, wine, and beer. This London-inspired brasserie is serving up a British Christmas Dinner with a four-course prix fixe menu ($100 per person) with traditional sides and dessert and an option to add caviar service, winter cocktails, and wine pairings. How to reserve: Reservations are available between 11:30 am and 8 pm and can be placed on<a href="https://www.exploretock.com/thecavaliersanfrancisco/" target="_blank"> Tock</a>.

The Cavalier

It’s hard to be a grinch about heading to one of the more touristy destinations in town when that destination comes with waterfront views and plates and plates of delicious seafood. Fog Harbor will be decorated for the holiday and is serving its entire menu all day on Christmas Day, so can choose between cioppino, whole Dungeness crab, lobster tails, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and so much more. How to reserve: Call 415-421-2442 for indoor and outdoor dining reservations. Can’t snag a reservation? Walk-ins are available and its sister restaurants, also located at Pier 39 – <a href="http://www.crabhouse39.com" target="_blank">Crab House</a>, <a href="http://www.piermarket.com" target="_blank">Pier Market Seafood Restaurant</a>, <a href="http://www.wipeoutbarandgrill.com" target="_blank">Wipeout Bar &amp; Grill</a>, and <a href="http://www.eaglecafe.com" target="_blank">Eagle Cafe</a> – are open for Christmas Day dining.

Enjoy a completely private dining experience at Hotel Zelos’ “Holiday Habit” dinner. You’ll enjoy the meal in a guestroom decked with holiday decor so that it can be as intimate (or as raucous, we suppose) as you’d like. The experience is suitable for up to six guests, and the four-course prix fixe menu ($99 per person with optional $50 wine pairing) includes options like a sturgeon caviar bao bun, crisp Dungeness crab roll, sweet potato gnocchi, dry-aged ribeye, and a salted caramel chocolate tart. Dirty Habit

Add Peruvian flair to your holiday with delicious dinners with tons of sides from Jaranita that are served ready-to-eat, but can easily be reheated. Choose from the Pollo Jarana package ($50, serves four), which includes a whole roasted chicken; salad with locally sourced vegetables, avocado, mixed greens, queso fresco, and cucumber dressing; french fries; veggie fried rice, and four beef empanadas; and the Crispy Pork Belly package ($100, serves four), includes three pounds of crispy charcoal-roasted duroc pork belly; two pounds of corn mash; two pounds of fried sweet potatoes; a side of mint and onion medley; and sauces. Whichever you get, add on the cebiche appetizer platter ($70) that includes cebiche clasico, cebiche de mariscos, shrimp causa with whipped potatoes, and organic Peruvian quinoa salad with burrata, lettuce, and Peruvian pesto dressing, as well as batched cocktails. You don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy the tradition of Chinese food on Christmas or to enjoy it with a side of Jewish comedy (usually performed in a restaurant, but virtual this year, which means the more the merrier). Lazy Susan is the official food partner of <a href="https://www.koshercomedy.com/" target="_blank">Kung Pao Kosher Comedy</a> this year and is offering two special four-course prix fixe menus with veggie potstickers, hot and sour soup, kung pao chicken, garlic broccoli, and white rice ($45 for two people), and a vegetarian version that swaps Buddha’s Delight for the chicken dish. Add on a bag of Yiddish proverb fortune cookies simply because you can. It’s just a fact that luxury hotels consistently bring it on big holidays, and Luce is living up to that reputation this Christmas with an indulgent six-course chef’s tasting menu ($165 per person). Highlights include a crispy skin dry-aged New Zealand John Dory, a 100-day dry-aged ribeye, and sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. See the entire menu here. While you can’t outsource your entire Christmas Dinner at this pâtisserie, you can outsource the most important parts, namely the Buche de Nöel, a Yule "log" filled with layers of chocolate, hazelnut, and pear ($75, serves eight to ten people). Go all out and add on a Christmas duck pithivier (a layered puff pastry filled with duck breast, duck liver, pork farce, and warm spices) in the petit ($85, serves two to three, or $105, serves four to six), and a holiday pâté bundle ($65, serves four) that’s probably supposed to be a hostess gift, but looks too delicious to give away. Wow your family and friends with possibly the best smoked and roasted duck they’ll ever eat—The Morris’ signature smoked duck with root vegetables. The restaurant is doing the heavy lifting; the duck will be brined, smoked, and air-dried before you pick it up. All you have to do is take it home and roast it according to the included instructions. You can get a half-duck ($45, feeds two) or a whole-duck ($90, feeds four), and you have the option to add on root vegetables, charcuterie, chocolate pudding, and more. Sure, it’s a chain, but it’s a chain that serves delicious steak and all of the steakhouse sides that you love, like jumbo crab cakes, twin lobster tails, a 22-ounce prime bone-in ribeye, loaded baked potatoes, and so much more. If you prefer to eat at home, you can pick up a three-course dinner ($179, serves two) with a winter salad, chateaubriand for two, baked corn soufflé, sour cream mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and a choice of white chocolate and pecan bread pudding or bruléed cheesecake for dessert.
