Make Your Own Bitters With Bespoke Post's Dash Box

We're huge fans of Bespoke Post. They've got a killer inventory of manly gear, a pretty bangin' office—plus they legitimately sent us an actual axe in the mail last week. While it's admittedly tough to trump a box with a f***ing axe inside, we're still pumped on their newest kit, Dash. If you're unfamiliar with the brand, Bespoke Post sends you a box full of awesome every single month for you to drink, play, wear, or cut.

The Dash box makes you an amateur bartender/mixologist/mad scientist by giving you the ingredients and instructions on how to cook up your very own bitters in the comfort of your own home.

So here's what you get in the Dash kit: two bitters ingredient sets, three flavor packets, (naked, orange, and habanero), two mixing jars, six dropper bottles & labels, a funnel, cheesecloth, instructions, and recipes.

You can toss in ingredients from your cabinet and even combine flavors. Orange-habanero? Sure, why the hell not.

If you're a total n00b at mixology and need a little guidance, you also get David Solmonson's book, The 12 Bottle Bar, which is basically your 400-page field guide on how to make more than 200 drinks with only 12 bottles. According to math, that's a pretty economically sound way to get drunk.

We're pumped on the Dash box, because it takes some effort. Every other box of the month club is pretty much "what you see is what you get"—not that there's anything wrong with that—we're all about instant gratification. This one, however, takes some practice.

You're not going to make the perfect set of bitters the first try through—if we've taught you guys anything, it's that you should be wary when brewing anything vaguely alcoholic at home.
