Time to rejoice dry-herb loving, clandestine vape enthusiasts! The anticipated follow-up to what many consider to be the best all-around portable vaporizer (and a Supercompressor favorite) has been unveiled, and I can tell you from personal, first-hand experience, the PAX 2 is the rare sequel that surpasses and eclipses the original. Eat your heart out, Godfather II.

On first glance, the PAX 2 looks a lot like the original—which isn't a bad thing by any means. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. So the design team over at PAX (formerly Ploom) decided to eschew a complete overhaul, instead opting for small tweaks and intuitive enhancements on its flagship product.
Smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the PAX 2 features increased battery life, four heat settings (instead of five), a deeper oven, and a heat/motion sensing mouthpiece that ensures your lips and tongue never get burned while you indulge. And although I have yet to try the new "party-mode" (mostly due to lack of people to party with), I'm sure it's at least 10x as fun as your last visit to Chuck-E-Cheese.
After several days of use, I've noticed the new PAX responds and functions a lot like the original (no sophomore slump here). With the incremental upgrades, a smoother, more consistent draw is achieved in less time with very little work, which is really all you can ask for in an ultra-portable vape.
The new PAX retails at a cool $279, and pre-orders placed today on their official site will ship on April 2, just in time for spring.
