From Rogue's Voodoo collection that's cooked up Doughnut Chocolate, Peanut Butter And Banana Ale and Doughnut Bacon Maple Ale comes the Pretzel, Raspberry & Chocolate Ale. Also inspired by Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, Oregon, this third go is inspired by the Voodoo Doll, a doughnut filled with raspberry jelly while topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake, and lastly shaped like, yes, a voodoo doll. While rich in flavor, it's the least dough-y of the line, and that's a good thing. It smells most strongly of raspberry, with hints of pretzel and chocolate, but the pretzel and chocolate come on a whole lot stronger in your first drink and the drinks that follow (though not too strong) — and while the raspberry is robust, it isn't overwhelming. As one would assume, it's best paired with a doughnut or drink it as dessert, and it won't compete with either as the sweetness is subtle. This 6.75% ABV brew a beer is definitely most enjoyable one at a time.
