Gerard Depardieu's 14 Bottle Of Wine/Day Drinking Schedule

Stereotypes aren't a good thing...but that doesn't necessarily mean there's no truth to them. Take the French, for example: eaters of cheese, haters of the United States, appreciators of fine wine. While we can't accurately comment on Gerard Depardieu's stance on cheddar cheese or Americans, we know for a fact that he loves his wine.

The French actor, who's appeared in such notable movies as Les enfants de Timpelbach, Quand j'étais chanteur, and, oh—the one we all actually know—Life of Pi—recently talked to So Film, a French publication, about how much he drinks per day. So, without further Depardieu (kill me), below is how much, according to Gerard, he drinks on the daily. (Keep in mind, this dude is 65 years-old and has had a quintuple heart bypass.)

1. "I can absorb 12, 13, 14 bottles…per day. But I’m never totally drunk, just a little pissed. All you need is a 10-minute nap and voilà, a slurp of rosé wine and I feel as fresh as a daisy!"

2. "Then food, accompanied by two bottles of wine."

3. "In the afternoon, Champagne, beer, and more pastis at around 5pm, to finish off the bottle."

4. "Later on, vodka and/or whisky."

Let that soak in. Speaking of soaking, we should mention that in 2011 Depardieu was banned from Air France after taking a piss in the aisle of a plane.
