This Vodka Is Made From Ocean Water

While it kind of sounds like a last-ditch effort for desperate victims of the sea's angry wrath — à la Tom Hanks and Wilson from Castaway — Ocean Vodka is indeed what you think: vodka made with delicious ocean water. Sourcing from 3,000 feet below the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, the water in Ocean Vodka is ripe with minerals like potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

The water is then purified, filtered and desalinated — meaning, all the salt is taken out — and distilled using natural cane sugar. So, instead of taking a big gulp of a salty martini, you get a nice mixed drink with the added bonus of drinking a 40% ABV vodka that's rich with vitamins and minerals.

Fun fact: the water used originated as Greenland glacier melt from over 2,000 years ago. When was the last time you even saw a glacier?! Really makes your friend's vodka tonic seem like a total piece of sh*t.
