Everyone wants you to wear their clothes, but few tell you exactly how to pull them off -- except for that creepy dude who sells ascots...he was very explicit in that area. For a DC label giving you clothing and knowledge, check out Instructions Apparel
Just now dropping their Fall line, Instructions is a year-old shirt 'n' tie operation from three buddies (a banker, a lawyer, and a biotech...biotech-er) that's all about style-education, buttressing their e-shop with info on how to pick shoes/watches/etc, tie/shirt pairing tips, and a fashion/lifestyle blog covering everything from how to avoid sweating in the summer to a budget-buying entry called "The Recession Hustle", a favorite of people the economy has forced to live in a Van McCoy. Fall's got 12 new shirts in addition to still-available spring styles, with freshness including "contrast" (white cuffs & collars) patterns like a blue/pink check, a small navy gingham, and a lavender solid, plus "traditional" (cuff/collar colors're consistent) joints in patterns like pink plaid, white w/ red stripes, and a pink gingham check, to wear lest you pink gingham wreck yourself. All ties're 100% silk, with new styles including two blue/green hip-kid plaid joints, all manner of diagonal stripes, solids in everything from forest green to "lilac texture", and seven paisley colorways (from navy/pink to purple/gray), giving you one to resent having to wear each day of the week
While the brand new stuff's not online yet, it'll all be available for purchase at a sexy party/preview they're throwing next Thursday at Ping Pong Dim Sum, which'll also include free shoe shines and tie knotting demonstrations, so you can totally pull off that look, but first start by removing your ascot...all sexy-like.
