Step off, beer googles: sunglasses made from wine barrels are now a thing

In the greatest wine innovation since canned Pinot, you can now wear a Merlot on your eyes instead of your teeth. The Cali sunglass makers at Woodzee have been turning exotic trees into Wayfarer frames since 2011, and they're about to launch a new collab with vintner Robert Mondavi using discarded oak barrels from his Private Selection vineyard in the Central Coast of California.

The shades are polarized, stave off 100% of UV rays, and come with a price tag of $125 -- which is only $25 more than their their normal models, or approximately twice as expensive as the best bottle of wine you've ever purchased.
